Screening Criteria and Methodology for Approval as Research Supervisors

Minimal requirements to be approved supervisor

(Subject to fulfilling other conditions as in clause 5.02 and 10)

NOTE: In area/disciplines where there is no or only a limited number of refereed journals, the Institution may relax the above condition for recognition of a person as Research Supervisor with reasons recorded in writing.

Score’s requirement (last 5 years):

40 <= score < 50: Co-supervisor

score >= 50 : Supervisor

Assessment must be based on evidence produced by the teacher such as: copy of publications, project sanction letter, and utilization and completion certificates issued by the University and acknowledgements for patent filing and approval letters, Post-doctoral training, DSC award letter, any other honour/award letter by State/Central government)

The Research Score for papers would be augmented as follows:

Peer reviewed /UGC listed journals

Paper with impact factor less than 110 Points
Paper with impact factor between 1 and 215 Points
Paper with impact factor between 2 and 520 Points
Paper with impact factor between 5 and 1025 Points
Paper with impact factor >1030 Points

Joint Publication:

Two authors: 50% of total value of publication for each author

More than two authors: 70% of total value of publication for the First/Principal/Corresponding author and 30% of total value of publication for each of the joint authors.

Joint Projects:

Principal Investigator and Co-investigator would get 50% each.

* Note:

Paper presented if part of edited book or proceeding then it can be claimed only once. The research score shall be from the minimum of 3 categories out of 6 categories.

e-content:

5 points for NPTEL or equivalent platform course development

1 point for each blog/ video with more than 2000 views
